Abstract (EN)
Turkish - Greek demographic exchange constitues the major part of Lousanne Treaty.. The practice of the swap of population is an important event for each country, its application was problematic between Turkey and Greece, until 1934 and caused the relations to become tense and forced two countries to a war. In order to fintl a solution to the problems aroused from the application of the swap, they ha(| to sign a treaty in 1 926, 1 930, 1 933. The matter |«as examined in a chrono logical order. In introductory part the historical progress of Turkish - Greek relations until the First World War summarized. TheMnformations were given absout the situations of Greek t ? ? under Ottoman administration, their rights and living standards, the causes of Greek insurrections broken out in earlier 1 9th century, its developement and the independence |of Greece gained thanks to external supports. The book p'lso gives informations about the expansionist and hostile policy followed bylGreece since its foundation, about the historical progres of the practice of demographic exchange and the treaties signed after Balkan Wars. In the first fart, the causes ihad forced two countries to a demographic exchange were examined; Hostilities and lack of confidence were shown as a major cause for friction between 2 nations. The provocations and supports of the European cauntries were given as a proof to trfe occurence of this incident. The activities of Greek associations arid trie röle played by Greec patriarchate were also quoted, in addition, the exuberances and treachery and cruelty of Greek and Greek army during the first World and İdependanee War were discussed. In the seccjhd part the problem of demographic exchange in Lousanne Treaty was.examined The meeting cf t&e Conference,, the ?.foundation of exchange sufo-co.rmittee and negotiations were recounted. In this part, the problems of Greek living in İstanbul and their establishment, the problem of Patriarchate and confiscation of the properties were quoted. The treaties signed in Athene in 1926 and in Ankara in 1930 in order to find a solution to the problems to West Thracian Turks were also discussed. ; In this part, the transport of exchanged people, their feeding and subsistence, their settling, the give aut of estates, the support and facilities i given to these peaple were examined. f. in the 4th part the pay to the exchanged people, the donation of the estates in return for rent, the dept-law, a banloned properties and properties left by people who aren't subject to demographic exchange, juridical judgements, the give out of title - deed of leal estates and the difficulties Turcey and Greece faced in solving them wens mentionned. In the fifth and last part, the application of the demographic exchange concept was given. A tableau that shows whare and how many peaple are to be settled, the long and short term results! of the demographic exchange practice were examined.
