Meanings given by parasynthesis in derived words in the Turkish dictionary

One of the important subjects for semantics is the issue of meaning difference in the supplements of Turkey Turkish. The supplements of Turkey Turkish are separated into two groups like derivational affix and inflexional suffix. Derivational affixes are the grammatical structures which supply lexicalising. These structures make alteration in the word stem from the point of meaning and type while lexicalising. Analyzing this situation is important to contribute the studyings of turkish language. Turkish language has a very rich property from the point of derivational affix. Thanks to these supplements, it creates new words from lots of stem and body. While these supplements sometimes involve single meaning , they sometimes involve multiple meanings. It seems that they both assign a different meaning to appendant word and change the type of the word. In this study, by processing the subject of meaning difference, the supplements are tried to be explained from semantic way. In the study, firstly the mission of derivational affix and inflexional suffix is indicated and later the derivational affixes which have derivative words are discussed. One of the important point of the study is that the meaning of the function of derivational affix in inflexional suffix is tried to be explained. Our study is analyzed basing on the derivative words in the Turkish dictionary. For that purpose, by scanning the words in the dictionary, derivational affixes like name from name, verb from noun, actual name, verb from verb are determined. Apart from that, it is tried to be explained the added supplements which reproduce lots of words in our language. From the point of semantic, a comment is done with these sample words by determining the supplements. In Turkish dictionary, 157 supplements are determined which are intensively used by creating the difference of meaning. The supplements of name from name is 65, verb from noun is 19, noun from verb is 56 and verb from verb is 17. In the dictionary, the number of foreign supplement reproducing word is 22. Apart from these supplements, there are some supplements which does not make any derivation in an active way but just give some samples. These supplements are not included in our study.
