Abstract (EN)

This workout is over the names of 4 and 5-star hotels taking place in official registration of Ministry of Culture and Turism of Republic of Turkey in 2012. Within the scope of this workout the names of 1121 hotels and such enterprices have been examined. In the workout lexicology of the names of the hotels has been tried to be examined in terms of etymology, syntax and onomasiology and the names of enterprinces are evaluated according to acquired findings. The workout has also the capacity of data to surveys of sociology. In the investigation of the names of the hotels firstly a general evaluation has been made about the effect of sociological factors and compound nouns with no suffixes on onomosiology, effects of foreign languages on Turkish and choice of the names of commercial places. In part of investigation and findings, the names of the enterprices have been analysed and classified in terms of lexicology, syntax and etymologies. In the workout filtration method has been technically preferred with Microsoft Excel program and findings obtained in this method have been evaluated in the conclusion. The workout I have made over the names of 4 and 5-star hotels in Turkey has showed that the naming have mostly occured with the effects of (both in the aspect of lexis and syntax) foreign languages. Moreover, it has been observed that this effect has been at a more extraordinary level in the other linguistic levels. Key words: The names of the hotels, syntax, etymology, lexicology.
