Analysis of the level of meeting the expectations in business life of information and document management department curriculum in Turkey

The value of the profession of information profession is increasing day by day in today's information society. The importance of the education of the profession of information professional, is also increasing day by day. Therefore, the education of information professionals should be appropriate for the information society. It should teach the things people which do in business life. In this direction, the aim of the thesis is to measure how much the Information and Document Management Department's curricula benefit the information professional profession and how well the curriculum meets the expectations of active business life. The universe of the research consists of information professionals who graduated from the Information and Document Management Department and the ones who are actively working in the profession. Samples consists of 370 information professionals. A survey was conducted to measure the benefits of the IDM Department curriculum in the professional lives of information professionals. The survey includes the courses included in the curriculum. After the evaluation of the survey, it was understood that the courses taken by the information professionals during their education life did not provide sufficient benefit in their professional life. In addition, while creating the conceptual part, subjects such as "information professionalism profession", "Information and Document Management Department curricula" and "working areas of information professionals" were included.
