The Comparison of programs in physical education and sports science educator in Turkey and in some other countries

ABSTRACT Education is the most important factor that helps a country to develop. Therefore a study should be based on the world content. The topic of this research is "Educational- Instructional Programmes Implemented in Physical Education and Sports Departments in Turkish Universities and Comparisons Between Other Universities in The World." This study will connect present to past by providing a consciousness in Physical Education and Sports and will reveal the present situation and shed light on the future. In the first part of the study, education in general, education concept, historical development of education, the purpose of education, educational programmes, evaluation of educational programmes, and as for sport concepts, physical education and sports concepts, historical development of physical educayion and sports and general anfd specific targets of physical education are dwelled upon. In the second part Physical education and sport education programmes and their historical and chronological standings are studied. In the third part of the study, sample pyhsical education and sports teaching programmmes that are taken form Americai Germany, Azarbaijan, Canada, Australia, and England are presented as a general outlook. In the last part, a comparison is made in the light of the information obtained between the educational and istructional programmes and a sample programmes has been designed. As a result of the comparisons made, it has become clear that a specific starting point should be appointed in Physical Education and Sports policy of Turkey and that in this direction Physical Education and Sports programmes in Turkey should be improved. Besides, one of the points that have become obvious with this study is that such lessons as situational exercises, exercise for the elderly, and international reationships in sports prove that the countries studied are far more advanced in sports than Turkey.In conclusion, the existence of these fields showed the relationship between Physical Education and Sports Departments and all the other fields. So a new activity area has emerged.
