Visual design- ergonomics levels and effectiveness of news portals in Turkey

In this study, the designs of online news portals in Turkey and their ergonomics' designs are examined and how they are evaluated by the users of news portals are explored. In this context, the process of news portals' designs, their change from past to present, the historical development of Internet, the usage of news portals and their designs are explained in literature section. In the research, multiple methods are used: In the first phase, content analysis was made in order to reveal the visual size of Turkish news portals' designs: In the second phase, general screening model was used to measure the attitudes of the reader. In this context, visual size of news portals , how the visual usage is in Turkish broadcasting news portals , how the designs are practiced in news portals and how the visual usage are differentiated according to the issues of news are primarily explored. The habits of users to follow the news portals, what kind of news they are interested in, how the designs of home page and their visual usage are perceived by the users of news portals, the relationship between the designs and visuality with persuasiveness of the news are put forward in the context of news portals' user. How the elements of visual design are used, in what ways the users of news portals are affected are the results of this research. In this study, it is revealed that the visuality is a very important element to reach the target audience as in many areas today.
