Abstract (EN)
Road transportation, which is one of the dominant transportation modes of today's Turkey, is in an indispensable position for the Turkish economy. Road transport, which has high shares in Turkey's foreign trade and sectoral income, has become one of the sectors directly affected by Covid 19, which broke out as of 2019. The negative impact of Covid 19 in customs, production and social terms in all world economies has also deeply affected road transport. In this context, road transport has been affected by the closure or limited work of customs, disruptions in productive activities, changes in social life. In this context, it was aimed to evaluate national and international changes in road transportation during the Covid 19 period and to evaluate the experiences of companies in this regard and thus to understand how the road transport industry was affected by Covid 19 in operational terms. For this purpose, in-depth interview questions were prepared using the literature and the announcements of international official road transport organizations regarding regulations covering subjects such as customs, freight, driving times, and the questions were asked to the expert managers of companies operating in the road transport sector. With the data collected here, the main problems of the road transport sector have been tried to be understood. On this occasion, it is aimed to present new research areas to those working in the literature and to show the main problems to policy makers.
