The effects of transportation infrastructure on economic groth in Turkey

Abstract (EN)

Transportation, which is one of the fields of activity of logistics, constitutes an indispensable part of daily life and makes it possible to exist economically and socially. In developing countries, it is not possible to reach development goals such as urbanization, industrialization and export without transport. Therefore, infrastructure development is an indispensable part of public policies in developing countries.Turkey also in transport systems and infrastructure investments made in 2017, the highest share belongs to the highway. The second highest share belongs to the railway.In this thesis, using 1988-2017 data of Turkey, which benefited from the highway and railway line length, was examined by transport infrastructure in the Cobb-Douglas production function with the help of the relationship between economic growth.As a result of the analysis, a positive relationship was found between transportation infrastructures and economic growth.
