The Turkmen's Epic of Hodjamberdi Khan

In Turkmenistan folk literature, the 18th century has become a time period when oral literature passed into written literature. Poets and writers who grew up in this period both sang anonymous epics and performed epics that they created in the context of the training they received from their masters and their growing areas. Hodjamberdi Khan Epic, written by the Turkmen folk poet Abdullah Shabende, is a folk epic that took place in the 18th century Turkmen folk literature. The main purpose of handling the Hodjamberdi Khan Epic scientifically is to ensure that this folk literature product, which belongs to the Turkmen Turks, is recognized in our country. Research-screening model was used in the preparation of the thesis. With this model, the existing epic text was transferred from Turkmen Turkish with Cyrillic letters to Turkey Turkish by transcription. Then, examination and analysis studies were carried out in the context of the text. The thesis consists of an introduction and four parts. In the introduction part, after the general information about Turkmenistan, the term epic in general, terms used instead of epic in Turkmenistan, classification studies about epics and works of art are given. In the first part, the historical period of the Epic of Hodjamberdi Khan and the studies about the epic and the researches about Abdullah Shabende are presented. In the second part, the language, style and shape features of the Hodjamberdi Khan Epic were examined by giving examples from the epic. In terms of content, the plot of the epic has been systematically listed, the characters, space and time elements in the epic have been determined and analyzed in the context of the text. In the third part, the information obtained as a result of the examination of the Epic of Hodjamberdi Khan in terms of oral history and folklore is included. In the last part, the transcripted text of the epic and the text transferred to Turkey Turkish are given. In the conclusion part, the findings obtained as a result of the analysis of the epic are explained.
