Abstract (EN)
The Azerbaijani Turks In Iran During Three Transformation Periods (1925, 1979, 1991) Iran, as a country hosting various ethnicities and diverse communities, possesses a highly dynamic social structure. The Azerbaijan Turks in Iran constitute one of the most influential communities alongside the Persians in terms of population. Factors such as geographical location, cultural diversity, economic dynamism, and population density have played a pioneering role in shaping the political changes in Iran, with the Azerbaijan Turks in Iran at the forefront. This study's introduction will provide basic information about the Azerbaijan region in Iran and the geographical structure of Iran. Subsequently, different ethnic and cultural communities within Iran will be discussed. As a result of the research, it has been determined that certain pivotal points in Iran's history, particularly in 1925, 1979, and 1991, significantly influenced the Azerbaijan Turks. The effects of these changes during the three separate periods on the Azerbaijan Turks in Iran have been thoroughly examined. Events and developments before and after these periods will be discussed to understand how they affected the situation of the Azerbaijan Turks in Iran. The years 1925, marking the end of the Qajar Dynasty, 1979, with the Islamic revolution in Iran, and 1991, when Azerbaijan declared its independence, will be deeply scrutinized for their impact on the Azerbaijan Turks in Iran. The study delves into the role of Azerbaijan Turks in Iran during these periods, the situations they faced, and how their socio-cultural statuses evolved, serving as fundamental elements of the study. The conclusion of the study involves a comprehensive evaluation of these three crucial periods using a historical comparative method. As an example, it will explore how, before the Qajar Dynasty, Azerbaijan Turks freely used their language, while restrictions were imposed on the use of Turkish during the Pahlavi era. Throughout the historical process, general observations and conclusions have been attempted regarding the situations of the Azerbaijan Turks in Iran.
