The effects of migration processes on the international system and the sustainable development of Central Asian states: The case of Kazakhstan

Migration is an important phenomenon of the 21st century. New migration trends have emerged in the context of globalization and are causing various effects. The process of globalization creates a new political, social and demographic picture of people, capital, ideas, knowledge, culture, and this is the modern system of international relations. In this regard, international migration has become an important challenge both for global development and for some state actors. The phenomenon of migration is important within the Central Asian states. The main role of migration in Central Asia takes labor migration as the dominant global and regional trend. Decreased production, low wages, high unemployment and poverty in most of the Central Asian countries can be explained as the reasons for migration. However, labor migration can positively result in these driving economic factors, reducing unemployment in the main countries, often leading to a strong impact of social welfare assistance and increasing the purchasing power of the population of remittances that can help to overcome such problems. International migration processes, Eurasia' It is of special importance for Kazakhstan, which is located in the very center of the country and is a transition state and a donor country, which, after the collapse of the USSR, has unique features that have accepted large influxes of immigrants from Central Asian countries. In this research, it will be investigated how and to what extent migration to and from Central Asian countries will affect the socio-economic aspects of the sustainable development of the region and countries. Firstly, DEC aims to examine how the relationship between international migration and development has been shaped within the framework of these discussions in the light of theoretical and empirical data. Then, it was evaluated how the relationship between international migration and development is covered in current international documents such as the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals and Global migration.
