Arab Spring from the perspective of university students: A case study of Arab students in Turkey

This study aims to understand the Arab Spring according to Arabian origin students who study in Turkish Universities and to clear what Arab spring means to them and how the Arab Spring is perceived from the eyes of Arabian students. The model of the research, in which quantitative analysis methods are used, is the scanning model. The data of the research were obtained by the survey method. The questionnaire form consists of two parts. In the first part, there are questions about the demographic information of the participants, while in the second part, there are questions to determine how Arab university students evaluate the Arab Spring. The universe of the research is higher education students studying at Gelişim and İbn-i Haldun Universities in Turkey in 2020. The sample of the research consists of 200 people determined by convenience sampling method. The data obtained from the sample group were analyzed with the SPSS statistical program. In this direction, the frequency and percentages of the participants' participation in the Arab Spring and their education are presented in tables and figures. At the end of the research, the Arab Spring is an action created by the conscious and planned efforts of the people who rebelled against the existing system with the influence of the West, as the beginning of the rebellion by the citizens of the Middle East and North African countries from 2010 to the present, as well as causing changes in the regime, administration and administrators in these countries. concluded that. The participants listed the factors affecting the Arab Spring as political, economic, educational and socio-cultural reasons. It was concluded that they could not find political comfort as they wanted.
