Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to examine the mediating role of spiritual well-being in the relationship between self-efficacy and psychological resilience in university students. The research is a quantitative study and is in correlational research model. Within the scope of the research, self-efficacy, psychological resilience and spiritual well-being variables were used and the mediating role effect of spiritual well-being between these variables was examined. The population of the study consists of state and foundation university students enrolled in any department in Istanbul between the academic years 2022-2023. The research sample consists of 449 students. In addition to the General Self-Efficacy Scale, Brief Psychological Resilience Scale and Spiritual Well-Being Scale as data collection tools, the Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher was used to access the demographic information of the participants. The data collected in the study were analyzed with SPSS 29 Package Program and PROCESS Macro conditional process analysis. For the analysis of the data, the normality of the distribution was tested first. After it was determined that the normality of the distribution was ensured, independent groups t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were applied. For mediation analyses, the regression-based mediation macro (Process Model 4) was used. In this way, the direct and indirect roles of the variables were revealed. According to the findings obtained from the analysis results, it was determined that spiritual well-being had a direct partial mediating role effect in the relationship between self-efficacy and psychological resilience of university students. According to this, psychological resilience significantly and positively predicted self-efficacy overall and directly. Psychological resilience also significantly and positively predicted spiritual well-being. Furthermore, spiritual well-being significantly and positively predicted self-efficacy. The mediation model results indicated that the variables explained approximately 32% of the variance in self-efficacy, and spiritual well-being partially mediated the relationship between psychological resilience and self-efficacy.
