Gifted students' views on nature of scientific inquiry

One of the most important components in educating students as science literate and achieving the goals of science literate students is scientific inquiry. Gifted students with the cognitive features of individuals with superior portion represents the very least that the society we live in and the society in each field that will lead to considering the future of these students to realize how scientific knowledge is produced, scientific knowledge and the basic skills to carry out the production process of scientific inquiry is quite important to acquire a basic understanding of. The main purpose of working in this direction is the gifted 6, 7 and 8 who are studying in BİLSEM. It is to determine the level at which the students' views on scientific inquiry are descriptive. The study was conducted with 97 secondary school students studying in Science and art centers located in Bolu, Düzce and Sakarya region. In accordance with the designated purpose Lederman et al. The opinions survey (VASI) on scientific inquiry developed by (2014) was made online via Google Docs-Form and applied to participants. The answers given by the students to the survey were analyzed by statistical analysis method and the students' opinions about scientific inquiry were determined. The results of the study showed that the views of gifted students on scientific inquiry were mostly inadequate. 1 of the scientific inquiry of the vast majority of gifted students, while the results of the study are examined in depth., 2., 3., and 8. insufficient in size; 4., 5., and 6. conscious in its dimensions; 1. and 7. it has been revealed that they have partially conscious views for their size. It was also concluded that there were not very large differences between gender and class levels. The findings were interpreted together with the results of the studies in the literature in line with the high rates observed in the dimensions and discussed and suggestions were presented on the subject.
