A morphological, anatomical and palynological research on the verbascum exuberans hub.-mor. and v.splendidum boiss.

In this study, the morphological, anatomical and palynological properties of the examples belonging to the Verbascum L. genus Verbascum exuberans Hub.-Mor. and Verbascum splendidum Boiss. were researched. The species that make up this research are endemic for Turkey. In the morphological studies, the morphological characteristics of both species were determined after studies conducted both on premises and after premises, were compared to the findings of P.H. Davis, and the characteristics that were incomplete in the flora were detected. Also, the species seed morphologies were examined with the help of both the stereo microscope (SM) and the scanning electron microscope (SEM) and the photographs were added to the research. In the anatomical studies, the transverse and surface sections taken from the root, stem and leaf parts of the examples belonging to the species were examined under a motorized light microscope and their photographs were added to the research. In both species examined, the transverse sections compared to the xylem, phloem were situated in a wider area and filled the center of the root. When the transverse sections were examined, the vasculer bundles were regularly situated around the cambium and are of the open collateral type. It was determined the vasculer bundles were of the bicollateral type of the base leaf in the transverse sections and the stem leaf was of the closed collateral type in the transverse sections. In the palynology studies, pollen morphology of both species were examined with the light microscope and the scanning electon microscope and the photographs were added to the research. The pollen type of both species were tricolpate, and the pollen shape was determined as subprolate in V.splendium Boiss. and prolate in V.exuberans Hu.-Mor.
