Abstract (EN)
The history and administrative stucture of Amasya were discussed in the first part of the study which was conducted to identify madrasahs remains in Amasya by XIX and XX. The history of Amasya was examined under the titles of Pre-Ottoman and Ottoman Periods and it was referred to administrative structure of the Ottoman Period. The Pre-Ottoman history was evaluated by the data from archeological surface surveys and excavations around Amasya region. It was then tried to determine the importance of Amasya region in Bronze Age, Iron Age and Antique Period. The information was given about historical events in Seljuk Period, who enabled Anatolia to be a Turkish resident. It was explained the structure of states, starboards and districts. In Second Part, it was discussed the ways in which the societies transfer their knowledge accumulated over the centuries to the new generations. The study briefly observes the education and training environments within the region. Information was also given about the madrasahs institutional objectives, functions and organisational structures while their development under the control of the state in X. Century. Features of first madrasahs in Ottoman Period and the Sahn-i Seman Schools built by Fatih Sultan Mehmed were revealed. Information about the content of the Kanun-i Talebe-i Ulûm, which is considered as the constitution of Fatih's foundation and the madrasahs, was given. The cirriculum which regulated by the laws, the qualifications of the professors, placements, promotions, and the stages of students from the begining till to the graduation and job assignation explained. It was also reffered to the debate on the regression of the madrasahs. The third part was devoted to the madrasahs in Amasya. It is emphasised that the importance of Amasya in Seljuks Period and due to the fact that it was the city of princes, it constantly develops in terms of zoning activities. The scope of study, covers the information about 44 madrasas, which 37 in the center of Amasya and 7 in the disctricts of Amasya. The study gives information about the founder, the date of establishment, location, characteristics, lecturers and the foundations of madrasahs in Amasya remained XIX. and XX. century. The places, physical characteristics and ages of the students from Amasya who came from abroad to study in the Amasya were shown in table sheets. Madrasahs was addressed under two different headings, including the madrasahs in the center of Amasya and the madrasahs in the districts. The list of foundations was obtained by the information gathered from Torumtay Madrasah, Yörgüç Paşa Madrasah, Hızır Paşa Madrasah, Mehmed Paşa Madrasah, II. Beyazid Madrasah, Büyük Ağa Madrasah, Küçük Ağa Madrasah and Halifet Madrasah which was the earliest known madrasah in Amasya. The information given about the fees to be paid to those who will carry out various missions in the madrasahs. Under the heading of the conclusion, the information gathered about establishment purposes and their functions of Amasya madrasahs are compared with the madrasah in general. Those remaining madrasahs who shaped the social and cultural life of Amasya, were named and information was given about the date they ended their activities. The structural characteristics of the madrasahs and their reasons for closure are mentioned.
