Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to investigate the rooting and seedling development of oil-bearing rose (Rosa damascena Mill.) cuttings in different periods (March, August and November) according to hormone application type and dosage in Isparta University of Applied Sciences, Department of Field Crops Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies. In this study, cuttings taken from 1 year old oil-bearing rose plants were used as material. The cuttings were 8-12 cm in length and 3-5 buds. In each cutting, only 2 leaves with 2 leaflets were left in the top two buds. The cuttings were kept at fungicide concentration before hormone application. Then, indol-3-butyric Acid (IBA) hormone was applied to the cuttings at 0, 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 ppm doses by fast dipping method and 0, 25, 50, 75, 100 ppm doses by slow dipping method. The study was carried out with 3 replications and 50 cuttings were used for each replications. 2 months after planting cuttings removed from the rooting medium and rooting ratio, number of roots (no/cutting), root length (cm), shoot length (cm), number of leaves (no/cutting), number of leaflets (no/leaves), wet root weight (g), dry root weight (g), wet shoot weight (g), dry shoot weight (g), total phenolic content (mg/g) properties were investigated. According to the results; the highest rooting rate was determined as 1000 ppm in fast dipping and 50 ppm in slow dipping in August cuttings, while the highest number of roots was determined in 1000 ppm fast dipping. On the other hand, the maximum root length and shoot length of the cuttings were taken from fast-2000 ppm application in August, while the number of leaves was observed at the highest fast-1000 ppm application in the same period. As a result, it is recommended to take the cuttings in August period and to apply fast-1000 ppm and slow-50 ppm doses of IBA hormone in fast and effective seedling production in oil rose.
