Özet (EN)
Vocabulary includes all language patterns spoken in daily life. These patterns are not a structure that stands still and gets old, but a living system that constantly renews and develops itself. The vocabulary of a text strengthens the text and makes it interesting. In order for children to speak Turkish effectively, correctly and beautifully, it is essential for them to enrich their vocabulary. This is through perceiving and understanding the works of children's literature correctly. Therefore, these works should be kept rich in terms of vocabulary elements; however, attention should be paid to the principle of relevance to the child. In this study, the elements of vocabulary in Yalvaç Ural's works Good Night Bozi, The Long Journey of the Little Bear, Honey Hunter Little Piti, Little Bear and the Maple Tree, A Sky Full of Pigeons, The Game of the Blue Crow and the Lion, La Fonten in the Forest Court were identified. The aim of the study is to determine the idioms, proverbs, dilemmas, terms, slang/rough words, filler words, stereotypes, mould (relationship) words, translation words and foreign words in Yalvaç Ural's related works. While determining these vocabulary elements, document analysis was carried out depending on the qualitative research method. The findings were determined and tabulated using the tagging method. A total of 957 lexical elements were identified in these seven books. According to the findings, foreign words were determined to be the most frequently used lexical elements in the works. After foreign words, the most frequently occurring lexical elements in the works are idioms. Proverbs, on the other hand, are the least frequently occurring lexical elements. The fact that foreign words are the most frequently used lexical elements and that proverbs are rarely found in the works has been identified as a shortcoming.
