Evaluation of logistics performance of the enterprises operating in fresh fruit and vegetable sector: A research in Antalya

As an important sub-sector of agriculture, the YMS sector is an important trade issue globally, as it is one of the most important raw materials of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, as well as producing the basic needs of people. There are logistics activities at every stage of the YMS supply chain, and it has become a sector where logistics activities are especially important due to the high sensitivity of the product and the need for different storage conditions. For this reason, the success of the companies engaged in YMS trade in logistics operations is decisive in the overall success of the enterprises and affects the sectoral competitiveness. In this thesis, logistics performance, which is an important factor in the success of organizations, was evaluated on the efficiency, effectiveness and differentiation dimensions of logistics performance and on businesses operating in the YMS sector in Antalya province. Antalya province has an important place in production, domestic commercial activities and foreign trade in the YMS sector, so it was chosen as a research region. The fact that the logistics performances of the enterprises operating in the YMS sector in this region have not been investigated in the literature has been an important source of motivation in the preparation of this thesis.
