Özet (EN)

Aim: This research was conducted to determine elderly individuals' perceptions of nurses' attitudes and their satisfaction levels with nursing care. Material and Method: The population of this descriptive and relational study consisted of individuals aged 65 and over who were hospitalized in the internal medicine and surgery clinics of a hospital located in the Eastern Anatolia region. The sample consisted of 200 patients who met the study criteria and volunteered to participate. Data were collected using the "Demographic Information Form for Elderly Individuals," the "Elderly Individuals' Perception of Healthcare Professionals' Attitudes Scale," and the "Newcastel Nursing Care Satisfaction Scale." In the analysis of the data, numbers, percentages, means, Independent Samples t-Test, Analysis of Variance, Correlation Analysis, and Regression Analysis were applied. Results: Of the individuals participating in the study, 47.5% were male and 52.5% were female. 48% were hospitalized in internal medicine clinics and 52% in surgery clinics. The mean total score on the Newcastle Nursing Care Satisfaction Scale (NNCSS) was found to be 71.71±19.01, and the mean total score on the Elderly Individuals' Perception of Healthcare Worker Attitudes (YASTA) Scale was found to be 1225.95±230.55. A significant relationship was found between the YASTA scale score and the NNCSS score of elderly individuals. Conclusion: According to the mean scores of the Nursing Care Satisfaction Scale (NNCSS) for elderly individuals, their satisfaction levels with nursing care were found to be moderately high. When the mean scores of the sub-dimensions of the YASTA scale were examined, it was determined that perceived positive attitudes were higher than negative perceptions. While the moderate-to-high level of nursing care satisfaction is related to perceived positive attitudes, it suggests that the perception of discrimination is a significant factor limiting this satisfaction.
