Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to determine critical thinking and reflective thinking of the teachers implementing the new (2006) English language curriculum for primary education. Survey method was used in this descriptive study. The field of the research was consisted of 196 teachers of English who have been teaching to 4th and 5th grade students in the city center and districts of Elazığ city in 2007- 2008 academic year. The sample of the research is 120 teachers of English. Data of the research were gathered via `California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory? (CCTDI) and `Reflective Thinking Disposition Inventory? (RTDI). Data of the research were analyzed by SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences ). Some findings of the research are as follows:-Teachers of English emphasized that they thought critically in general, however; in ?seeking the truth? and ?systematic? factors they partially thought critically.-Teachers of English emphasized that they thought reflectively in general, however; in ?looking professional? and ?continuous and intentional thinking? factors they partially thought reflectively.In conclusion it is suggested that these kinds of researches be done covering the whole country.
