Özet (EN)

Aim: The aim of this study; To evaluate the effect of a new dual-wavelength low-energy laser on the distalization rate of the canine. Materials and Methods: 23 people were included in the study. Right and left first premolar teeth were extracted at the beginning of the treatment. 23 people were divided into two groups. In the experimental group of 12 people, a new dual wavelength low-energy laser was applied during the distalization of the canine, while in the control group of 11 people, the canine was distalized without applying the laser. After 2 weeks, 1 month, and 2 months later, digital models were obtained from the measurements taken from the patients. The amount of canine distalization, canine rotation amount and molar anchorage loss during these periods were measured on the 3D program. DOS (gingival groove fluid) was collected from the patients on the 0th, 1st, 7th and 14th days of distalization. RANKL, OPG and MMP9 levels were measured from the collected DOS samples by ELISA method. Measurement amounts and biochemistry findings were statistically evaluated with two-way analysis of variance. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between the laser and control groups in terms of canine distalization amount, canine rotation amount and molar anchor loss. MMP9 levels in the laser group decreased more than the control group between days 0-1 and days 7-14. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of RANKL amount. OPG levels increased significantly more in the laser group between the 7th and 14th days compared to the control group. Conclusion: The new dual-wavelenght low-energy laser did not appear to increase the distalization rate of the canine.
