Abstract (EN)

In line with the positive impact of tourism revenues on economic growth, hotel businesses have been growing over the years and are facing pressures to be environmentally responsible and adopt environmentally friendly activities that do not harm the environment. The aim of the study is to examine the effects of green intellectual capital on the environmental performance of hotels through the perceptions of employees in green hotels in Antalya and to investigate whether green human resources practices and pro-environmental behaviors of employees have a mediating role in this effect. In this study, a survey was conducted with 360 employees in five-star green accommodation establishments operating in Antalya province, using convenience sampling method. The data obtained was analyzed using SPSS 25.0 package program and AMOS 25 package program. Within the scope of the analyses, the Internal Consistency Coefficient Method was used to determine the reliability of the scales and the Confirmatory Factor Analysis was used to measure the construct validity. The hypotheses in the research model were tested with Structural Equation Modeling with the help of AMOS 25 package program. According to the analysis results, it has been determined that the three sub-dimensions of green intellectual capital (green human capital, green structural capital and green relationship capital) positively and significantly affect the environmental performance of green hotels, green human resources management practices and pro-environmental behaviors. In addition, it was concluded that green human resources management practices have a partial mediator role on the effect of the three sub-dimensions of green intellectual capital on the environmental performance of green hotels. The information obtained as a result of the research has been transformed into suggestions that will be beneficial to the tourism and hospitality industry as well as other related sectors and to provide new inspiration to all managers and employees within the organizational structure.
