Abstract (EN)

Daha sonra dAttachment is known as physical and emotional closeness that meets individuals' need to feel safe and ensures its continuity throughout life. Bowlby revealed attachment styles as a result of his observations on individuals in infancy and early childhood. Many studies have been conducted on attachment styles and one of these is the Quadruple Attachment Model of Bartholomew and Horowitz. According to the Quadruple Attachment Model, the attachment styles of adults are evaluated in 4 categories as secure, preoccupied, dismissive and fearful attachment as a result of their perceptions of self and other people. This study aims to examine the relationship between different attachment styles in adults and hope, self-esteem, self-compassion, psychological resilience and happiness. In line with the stated objectives in this study, the use of quantitative research method and relational model was preferred. The sample of the study consists of 243 (male = 77, female = 166) adult individuals between the ages of 18 and 60 with an average age of 28.42 (s.d. = 8.79). The individuals constituting the sample group of the study were reached through the convenience sampling method. In this study, the Relationship Scales Questionnaire and the Relationship Scale were used to determine the attachment styles of adult individuals; the Trait Hope Scale to determine their hope levels; the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale to measure their self-esteem; the Self-Compassion Scale Short Form to determine their self-compassion levels; the Brief Psychological Resilience Scale to determine their psychological resilience levels, and the Subjective Happiness Scale to determine their happiness levels. In this study, Pearson correlation analysis was performed to evaluate the relationship between the participants' self-esteem, psychological resilience, hope, happiness, and self-compassion scores and the secure, preoccupied, dismissing, and fearful attachment style scores. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed to determine the predictive power of secure, preoccupied, dismissing, and fearful attachment style scores on self-esteem, psychological resilience, hope, happiness, and self-compassion levels, respectively, and which attachment styles were predictors of these variables. As a result of the analyses conducted in the study, it was concluded that secure attachment style was a positive significant predictor of all the variables mentioned. In this sense, it was determined that the self-esteem, psychological resilience, hope, happiness and self-compassion levels of adults with secure attachment style were high. Different relational results were reached between other attachment styles and variables. These findings were discussed in the light of the literature.oldurulacaktır
