Fast food aplications and the assessment of the franchising system food and beverage sector

The way of life of an individual plays an important role in the choices and consumption of nutrition. In this sence, the new ways of life that has emerged in accordance with the diffences in social and economic structures, have brought their own rules along with them. The consumption of fast food has increased each day because of reasons like the development of the Food Industry, the choices of individuals who are obliged to eat away from homes because of rapid urbanization, the narrowing of time to cook for women who require to work away from theri homes, the increasing number of individuals living alone, and the effect of media. This situation has shifted an important load to the distribution channels, and various integrated channels types have emerged. The importance of the Franchising system, which is a contractual vertical marketing system, comes from here. The Franchising system has become one of the important elements especially in the rapid developing marketing system of the food industry.This study shows the analysis of how the fast-food sector positioned in the food and beverage industry, its development process in the world and in Turkey, and the Franchising system that is the most important distribution model of the sector within this period. Besides, Burger King and Özsüt that have an important place in the Franchising system of the fast-food industry in Turkey, have been chosen as sample models to provide a more efficient understanding of the study subject.
