Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to examine the effect of higher religious education on students' worldviews. Within the framework of this main purpose, answers were sought to the questions: What are the world views of higher religious education students and how does higher religious education affect students' world views? The study was designed based on a case study, which is one of the qualitative research approaches. The study group was determined using criterion sampling, one of the purposeful sampling methods. In this study, the main criterion was determined as students studying higher religious education in the 2022-2023 academic year. Semi-structured interview technique was used as a data collection tool in the study. The data obtained were uploaded to the NVIVO 12 Plus program and analyzed with the descriptive analysis technique. As a result, while some of the students think that theology education provides a worldview awareness, others think that it does not have such an effect and that the education provided is incomplete in these matters. It was observed that the factors that were effective on this contrast between the findings of the study were the facilities of the faculty and satisfaction with the faculty, the academic staff in the faculties, the way the courses were taught and the subjects covered, and the profile of the students who preferred the courses.
