Özet (EN)

Introduction and aim: Soft-tissue sarcoma (STS) represents a rare group of mesenchymal neoplasms comprising more than 50 heterogeneous subtypes. In this study, we retrospectively evaluated the clinical and pathological features of patients with STS who were followed up in our center. Materials and method: The medical records of 60 patients diagnosed with STS between 2010-2019 years were investigated retrospectively. Patients' age, gender, date of diagnosis, laboratory results, operation date, pathological subtype, surgical margin positivity, presence of metastasis, adjuvant therapy, treatment regimens and treatment end date, presence of relapse, treatment received after recurrence, and death status were recorded. Disease-free and overall survival analyzes were determined by the Kaplan-Meier method. In statistical analysis, p <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results:The mean age of the patients was 49.5 + 16.1 years, 36 (60%) were male and 24 (40%) were female. The most common subtype was liposarcoma (n = 20). The most common presentation was mass. At diagnosis, 48 patients (%80) were at the local stage and 12 patients (%20) were at the metastatic stage. Median overall survival time in patients was found to be 44 months. The 5-year overall survival probability was determined as 45.6%. There was no statistically significant difference between the overall survival times according to gender, age, disease stage, tumor grade, diameter and mitotic index (p> 0.05). Overall survival times were significantly higher in patients without tumor necrosis and metastasis (p <0.05). Conclusion: Apart from benign causes, the possibility of STS should be kept in mind in patients presenting with a painless mass and tissue sampling should be performed. The development of metastasis negatively affected the survival during the disease. Patients should be careful about regular follow-up after diagnosis and early treatments. Keywords: soft tissue sarcoma, overall survival, progression-free survival
