Yusuf al-Karadâvî and Halil Günenç's opinions on banking transactions

The basic institutions that make up the society come from economy, education and health.When it comes to economy, the first thing that comes to mind is the bank.Banking is an economic concept that has been increasing its importance continuously from the earliest times to the present.The Bank is one of the financial institutions that form the economic structure of both modern societies and Islamic societies.This concept increases its importance and improves its development in our country as in other countries.When people hear the word Bank, interest first comes to mind in their minds.Banks can be classified from various angles.One of these classifications is the traditional banks that carry out their transactions on the basis of interest and participation banks that avoid interest-bearing transactions in their transactions.Since there is interest in some transactions carried out by traditional banks, these transactions have some drawbacks in terms of Islamic law.There is no harm in terms of Islamic law in the transactions of participation banks that carry out their transactions within the limits specified by Islamic law.However, if participation banks go beyond the limits specified by Islamic law in their transactions, these transactions will not be permissible. Today, the fact that participation banks carry out their transactions in accordance with Islamic law has led to the fact that a significant part of people with religious sensitivities turn to participation banks. This situation is among the factors that increase the importance of the subject. We wanted to compile the opinions of two great scholars who expressed their opinions in this field. This study consists of an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion. In the first part, we briefly focused on the lives and works of Yusuf al-Qaradawi and Halil Günenç. In the second part, we focused on the historical development of the Bank, the emergence of participation banking, and the fundraising of the participation bank. In the third chapter, the answers given by Yusuf al-Qaradawi and Halil Günenç to the questions directed to them about banks are included. In the conclusion part, a general evaluation of the subject was made and the study was completed.
