Abstract (EN)

This thesis focuses on the prehistoric period of the Zagros Region, presenting an examination of the region's geography, archaeological findings, and cultural developments. The aim of the research is to deeply understand the geographical and prehistoric features of the Zagros Region and to better comprehend its place in human history. Topics such as climate changes, settlements, and cultural evolution constitute the focal points of this thesis. The thesis consists of six main sections. The first section discusses the geographical structure and research history of the Zagros Region. Subsequently, the paleolithic period of the region is examined, emphasizing its significance as a host to various cultures. The third section delves into the prehistoric cultures and settlements of the Zagros region, shedding light on the rich archaeological past of the area and showcasing the development of various cultural phases. The fourth section focuses on the Neolithic period of the western (central) Zagros region, examining archaeological findings and settlements. Finally, an evaluation of prehistoric art and belief systems in the Zagros Region is provided.
