Investigation of amazon and google for fault tolerance strategies in cloud computing services
Cloud computing has recently become an attractive topic due to its ability to offer information technology solutions through virtual machines as on-demand services to share and consume resources over the Internet. As a result of rapid development in such services, the necessity of fault tolerance in the cloud is a major concern with reliability, availability and dependability is more critical to this new service type. This thesis investigates techniques and means of tolerating cloud services as well as cloud customers' systems/enterprises execution over the cloud safe from failures. As one of this findings shows, failures in cloud enabled services should be expected to occur hence they should be handled. The essential features of implementing fault tolerance strategies guarantee the business continuity, avoid financial lost, recovering systems from failures, and provide disaster recovery as well. The specific focus is to explore scenarios of avoiding/recovering from failures through redundancy, checkpoint and replication. Commercial IaaS providers such as Amazon's AWS and v Google's GCE are taken as examples as they tolerate their infrastructure from failures; in this way a robust architecture with fault tolerance property could be proposed for a system/enterprise. Hence, a general conceptual model with fault tolerance considerations has been proposed. With this basis, addressing potential failures in detail, implementing fault tolerance techniques, organizing teamwork to setup business policies are left for future work. Such limitations can be addressed through online questionnaires to collect information for case studies.
Fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin özel eğitime gereksinimi olan bireylere ilişkin görüşlerinin değerlendirilmesi
Özel eğitime gereksinim duyan bireylerin günlük yaşamsal becerileri edinmesi noktasında en önemli derslerden biri de fen bilimleri dersidir. Bu öğrencilerin fen bilimleri dersinin temel hedef ve kazanımlara ulaşılabilmesi için öğretmenlerin fen kazanımlarına, öğretim yöntem ve tekniklerine, öğrencilere yönelik materyal hazırlama yetkinliklerine ve öğrencilere yönelik kullanılan ölçme-değerledirme araçlarına ilişkin görüşlerinin belirlenmesi gerekmektedir. Bu nedenle bu araştırmada fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin özel eğitime gereksinim duyan bireylere ilişkin görüşlerinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu araştırma olgubilim deseninde tasarlanmış nitel bir araştırmadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim yılında Antalya ili Alanya ilçesinde görev yapan fen bilimleri öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin özel eğitime gereksinim duyan öğrencilerin bireysel ihtiyaçlarına yönelik bazı uyarlamalar yaptıklarını ortaya koymuştur. Öğretmenler, özel eğitime ihtiyaç duyan öğrencilerin akademik başarısı ve gelişimlerini analizi için örnek ölçme-değerlendirme ölçeklerinin geliştirilmesi önermektedir.
Numerical solutions of non-linear volterra integral equations of the second kind
In this thesis it will be shown how one can solve one of the types of integral equation, non-linear Volterra Integral Equations (VIEs) of the second kind, by certain methods: numerical integration (Trapezoidal rule and Simpson's rule), Runge-Kutta methods (classic third-order, optimal third-order, fourth-order, and classic fourth-order), classic spline functions (quadratic and cubic classic spline functions), and B-spline functions (first-order, second-order, third-order, and fourth-order). It will also be shown how one can convert one of the methods to another one. These methods exist and are easy to use to solve differential equations and integration problems, but it is difficult to apply them to integral equations, especially non-linear integral equations, because the known function occurs into kernel of the integral. Therefore it is needed to modify these methods and techniques to apply them to non-linear integral equations.
Automation of administrative and education operations at the e-school through modeling, design and implementation of an interactive administrative system
Al-Hassan Bin Ali secondary school is one of thousands of schools in Iraq that still used the paper work in administrative and education. In addition, those schools were refused to use information technology in education or use any of new E-learning or E-management techniques. In this study, the main purpose is to eliminate or reduce the paper work at this school by designing and constructing a web site with three main portals for student, teachers and parents. The website has been designed to diagnose and address the problems mentioned above. The tools are based on designing and managing the website by using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, and ASP.Net, which includes the Visual Basic.NET language. Moreover, SQL Server was also used to build the database of some pages. Therefore, the objective of this work, which is to automate the work at the school, has been v accomplished properly. Finally, each teacher has the ability to upload homework and lecture as well as exam grades and absents to the students whose have the ability to download and upload the solution.
Analyzing digital image manipulation detection algorithms
In recent years tampering in digital image is becoming very widespread and more interesting. With powerful Image software, editing tools make a tampered image easy, thus the field of image forensic has become very important and crucial. In this thesis, investigation is made on the image by depending on the traces that occur when the soft correlation between rows and columns are divested in altered images, in term of linear dependency and exploitation of these traces in image forensic, depending on the properties of singular value decomposition and derived features which can be helpful and accurate sufficiently to reveal the tampering that is done on the genuine digital image.
Improvement of Birth Registration System in Iraq with the Use of Electronic Government Services
E-government is considered to be a new phenomenon in the revolution of information and communication technology. In recent years, clear steps have been taken by many governments around the world towards the adoption of e-government in order to enhance the engagement of citizens and other parties with the government, thereby leading to efficiency, cost-effectiveness, trust, transparency and access to government public services. E-government adoption is surrounded by major challenges, including technical, social, legislative and administrative barriers. The digital divide, in addition to other social and cultural issues, are considered to be important factors that impact on citizens' willingness to accept or resist this new innovation. The scope of this research is to investigate in detail the birth registration system in Iraq, how it works and how the paper-based registration system can be transformed into an electronic system. As the research methodology, examples reported to the literature from similar countries are studied in addition to recent information published on those governments' websites. As a practical application, a quick design of interfaces has been carried out based on the roles of actors, places and actions related to the registration system. The findings show the benefits of using e-government services to reduce the cost, time and effort required to obtain those services. Moreover, the findings state the considerable barriers related to the adoption of e-government applications. Finally, they indicate the possibility of starting to apply electronic applications with preliminary work. Information resources, system analysis and design, legal issues and project management are the limitations of this research. Finally, the research question, "Can the government of Iraq take the advantages and successful experiments of precedent countries in adopting e-government initiatives to improve birth registration service?" is addressed and it is concluded that Iraq needs to study precedent examples from around the world and thus start transforming services from paper-based model to electronic model. A study on human capital index in closing the digital divide and raising e-government performance in middle east countries
E-government initiatives aim to employ information and communications technology (ICT) to provide better services to citizens and businesses while challenging the digital divide, which leads to closing the divide so as to promote e-government performance. This thesis takes related works already reported in the literature and addresses major factors that played a main role in achieving digitized governments, especially in the Middle East and Arab countries. As the case study, performance indices of Iraq, Bahrain and the KSA from 2002 to 2014 are studied in depth. The problem has been identified as the steady decline in the Human Capital Index (HCI) in the region. Therefore, the nature of the HCI measurement has been investigated. Major findings demonstrate a relationship between the HCI and ICT skills index of the International Telecommunication Union with a considerable digital divide in ICT skills in the Arab countries in addition to poor performance in the HCI. This finding is also supported by interpreting the differences between the indices of the HCI versus the telecommunication infrastructure index (TII) and online services index (OSI). This quick tool reveals that a poor HCI prevents these countries from promoting higher ranks. Another finding emerging from the statistics shows that the HCI exhibits unique behavior that differs from the TII and OSI and that it (the HCI) needs more time to improve. It is therefore necessary to focus on investing in HCI and ICT skills and to develop policies and strategies by those governments in charge. Among the limitations of this thesis are information sources that include only previous studies in addition to websites and in-situ surveys that were not conducted. The legal, economic and cultural aspects of the HCI are not studied. The HCI and ICT skills indices are found to play unique roles in closing the digital divide and this effect can be observed even in rich Arab countries not found in the list of world e-government leaders. Effective of real estate offices database structure analysis
Kirkuk is considered one the most important cites in Iraq for its many natural resources, multi ethnicities, groups and nationalities. Accommodation and choosing the perfect location for investment is a very important things. The scholar intends to create huge and optimize database by using MySQL language that includes urban planning foundation and geographical distribution regarding patterns of land uses. Currently, Iraq is still using old traditional system in searching the best real estate which requires a lot of effort and time to meet the needs. Kirkuk's applying this system encourages the scholar to build electronic real estate system. In order to facilitate the task in a short time by creating such a mobile application. This system has been created via Php language to design the website. The website admin inputs data regarding the required the real estate and then put them on a map (based on Google map) as well as authorizing the agent ( broker ) to do the same tasks done by the admin. The results will be displayed on (Android Application) which has been created via java Android language. In this way, citizens of Kirkuk will easily find their prospective real estate (Residence, Land, Apartment, Shops, Pharmacy, Firm, Factory, Agricultural land) for either purchasing or rent purpose in any time or place. Least but not last the user can communicate with the broker in case he/she likes the e. advert by calling, sms or sending a message on email address or any social media posts ( Facebook, Twitter ). On some applications of local fractional calculus
In this thesis, some basic definitions and theorems for the local fractional calculus are given. Based on these definitions and theorems, the applications are presented within the local fractional calculus. It is shown that the applications of the local fractional calculus give very good results on the solution of physical and mathematical equations.
Coverage in wireless sensor networks
Wireless Sensor Networks are developing as a key sensing technology, with various military and civilian applications. In these networks, a large number of sensors are distributed to sensing a target field. The sensors coverage mean that every point in the target field is sensing by at least one sensor. Each sensor is a limited battery-operated device that can sense events in its sensing range and can communicate with neighboring sensors. Since the life time of the sensor is dependent on its battery, where this battery is impossible to replace or recharge it in rough places, it is necessary to find an efficient energy way for it. Consumption of these limit energy batteries can result in the end of network life itself. Therefore, extending the lifetime of wireless sensor networks is important. Designing a schedule for sensors is an important goal in sensor networks to maximize the lifetime of the network. In this thesis presents a different way of scheduling to increase the lifetime of wireless sensor network. At all times, half of the full coverage is provided. Each sensor in our algorithm only needs to know the distances between its neighbor nodes and its sensing areas.Simulations show that new proposed algorithm noticeably improves several existing lifetime maximization algorithms. Also it improves the runtime.
Fault tolerant overlay networks design
In this thesis designs a reliable and scalable overlay network with fault-tolerance incorporation to support topic-based publish/subscribe communication. For scalability and efficiency, it is important to keep the degree of the nodes in the publish/subscribe system low. We proposes a new optimization problem named Fault-Tolerant Overlay Networks Design, where the trade-offs among several key dimensions such as fault tolerance, scalability, performance, and message dissemination are captured by it. The Fault-Tolerant Overlay Networks design problem is: given a set of nodes and their topic subscriptions connect the nodes to create a topic 2-connected overlay for pub/sub systems with minimum maximum degree, i.e., for each topic the sub-overlay induced by nodes interested in the topic is 2- connected. It presents an algorithm, namely GM3 for this problem which guarantees that the overlay network will be topic 2-connected and which aims at keeping the maximum node degree low.Experimental results show that GM3 algorithm is able to achieve low maximum node degree of publish/subscribe overlay systems.
Barriers and opportunities for e-commerce in Iraq: Perception of citizens
The internet is a fashionable medium that both changes our lives and impact the behavior of Labor and consumer in both business and commerce. Several studies of e-commerce in developing countries have emphasized the barriers and opportunities of e-commerce associated with Information and communication Technology (ICT), regulatory environment, economic infrastructure and culture as most important factors of successful e-commerce. ICT has transformed the approach of many companies to conduct business around the globe, currently business is conducted online wider than traditional methods. Majority of the developing countries face limitations on the development of e-commerce, a numerous studies categorize the factors of e-commerce adoption in developing countries into two factors as external and internal factors. These factors are the main barriers for e-commerce adoption. While Middle-East is a fast growing and evolving region for e-commerce,e-commerce is still in its infancy in Iraq. Iraq's economy mostly relies on oil revenues and it is essential to diversify economic activity, e-commerce is one of the ways to realize this. Within this frame, the main aim of this research is to understand the barriers and opportunities of e-commerce and adoption level of e-commerce in Iraq as a developing country. In order to understand the main perceptional barriers of Iraqi citizens, a research was conducted with 110 participants. The findings of the research indicate that the most important barrier for e-commerce adoption in Iraq is related with Organizational, Governmental/ Legal and Financial Barriers. Due to the lack of comprehensive research for e-commerce in Iraq, this study will contribute to the literature with its findings related with barriers which form opportunities for e-commerce development.
Manipulation detection in uncompressed video
In recent years due to advancement in video and image editing tools it has become increasingly easy to modify content of multimedia. Doctored videos are very difficult to identify through visual examination as artifacts left behind by processing steps are subtle and cannot be easily captured visually. Therefore, the integrity of digital videos cannot be taken for granted and these are not readily acceptable as a proof-of-evidence in a court-of-law. Hence, identifying the authenticity of videos has become an important field of information security. This thesis presents an approach to detect and temporally localize video forgery, based on the correlation of noise residual using the Discrete Wavelet Transformation (DWT) algorithm for de-noising. The proposed algorithm is tested on public datasets such as SULFA are used for performance evaluation. The results show that the approach is effective against manipulation techniques. In addition, it detects and localizes tampered frames in a video with high accuracy.
Liver volume computation from computed tomography (CT) images.
Recently, the computed tomography images have been used explicitly for diagnosing of liver disease, as well as, they are used to measure the volume of the treatment and relocate of liver. In general, the liver is segmented by the medical images using manual or the computed tomography segmenting techniques because the characteristics surface of the liver and the effects of the partial volume makes the automatic discernment of liver from the other nearby organs very complicated process. Consequently, in this thesis we will suggest a semi-automatic technique for the liver for the purpose of measuring the size of the liver by using the tomography computed images. Thus, in order to segment the area of interest, we have to focus on the process of segmenting the liver based on the edge in addition to the techniques of the growing area. Finally, the investigational measurements of the size and area of the liver are consistent with those use for manual tracking methods for radiographic doctor and it shows that this algorithm is an effective algorithm to measure the size and semi-automated segmentation of the liver.

Some new trends in superintegrable systems
The Hamiltonian integrability in classical mechanics and the explicit metrics for a class of two-dimensional cubically superintegrable systems are reviewed. Firstly, the integrals that are quadratic in moments corresponding to the natural Lagrangian systems are discussed with a special view focus to the two-dimensional case. The classical free Lagrangian admitting a constant of motion, in one and two dimensional space, was generalized by using the fractional Caputo derivative. The fractional Killing vectors and Killing-Yano tensors are presented in connection with the hidden symmetries of curved spaces. The Dunkl-Coulomb system in the plane was considered. The model that was defined in terms of the Dunkl Laplacian, involves reflection operators, with a r^(-1) potential. The system is shown to be maximally superintegrable and exactly solvable.
Lyapunov stability theory with some applications
In this thesis, a detailed overview of Lyapunov stability theorems of linear and nonlinear systems is presented. The Lyapunov first and second methods are investigated and the stability analysis of fractional differential systems is highlighted. A new Lemma for the Caputo fractional derivative is reviewed and a class of fractional-order gene regulatory networks is investigated. Besides the stabilization of continuous-time fractional for positive linear systems is reviewed. An elementary Lemma which estimates the fractional derivatives of Volterra-type Lyapunov functions is also put forward, in order to see how it can satisfy the uniform asymptotic stability of Caputo-type epidemic systems.
Fractional Caputo-Fabrizio derivative with applications
In this thesis, I pointed out three very recent applications of the new established fractional Caputo-Fabrizio derivative and I discussed its related properties and theorems. The associated fractional integral was displayed and the Laplace transform of the Riemann-Liouville and Caputo fractional differential operators was presented.
An efficient energy scheme for hybrid clustering wireless sensor networks
Wireless network clustering is one of the major methods which have been used in many applications for energy optimization. As there are many nodes in networks, our aim is to provide adaptive energy consumption with clustering methods. LEACH is a famous algorithm for clustering, which depends on random clustering method. In this algorithm, there are two different types of node, namely the cluster head and cluster members. Communication is provided via these cluster heads. Therefore, the LEACH algorithm achieves its main purpose by providing dynamic clustering and adaptive energy consumption. In this thesis, a new hybrid clustering algorithm is introduced, analyzed and implemented in a network area. The energy performance of the proposed method is compared with LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) and SEP (Stable Elections Protocol). Cluster head selection with different constraints and methods achieves better results in cases of energy consumption.
Mining association rules from clustering models
Association rules used to discover the interested relationships between variables (items) in large database. These relationships have been hidden in large database. Symbolic models consider the most common to extract association rules. Unfortunately, these models suffered of very serious limitations. Association rule generation is a process that take long time to generate a huge number of rules, including large amount of redundant rules. This problem appears obviously specially when dealing with high dimensional description space. To cope with these problems unsupervised approach has been made. This approach has been proposed to extract numerical association rules by establishing interesting links between numerical and symbolic models. Numerical models keep only the important relations between data, so it can extract the most potential and important association rules. This numerical approach can extract only simple association rules that mean each rule has two items, one item in each part of the rule. So it generates a lot of simple rules. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is to develop this approach to be able to extract complex and important association rules in order to discover relationships between itemsets of different sizes instead of only two items. This approach increases the possibility of numeric methods to extract important association rules. Neural network model with multiple topographic considers the main model in this thesis. One of the strongest features from this model is generalization mechanism that allows association rule extraction from only one database to be performed. The extraction of association rules is itself based on quality measures which evaluate to what extent a numerical classification model behaves as a natural symbolic classifier.
Investigation in MYSQLdatabase and NEO4J database
Currently, there are two major of database management systems which are used to deal with data, the first one called Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) which is the traditional relational databases, it deals with structured data and have been popular since decades from 1970, while the second one called Not only Structure Query Language databases (NoSQL), they have been dealing with semi-structured and unstructured data; the NoSQL term was introduced for the first time in 1998 by Carlo Strozzi and Eric Evans reintroduced the term NoSQL in early 2009, and now the NoSQL types are gaining their popularity with the development of the internet and the social media. NoSQL are intending to override the cons of RDBMS, such as fixed schemas, JOIN operations and handling the scalability problems. With the appearance of Big Data, there was clearly a need for more flexible databases. In this study, a theoretical study of investigating in two types of databases MySQL one of the traditional relational databases, and Neo4j one of the graph databases. First of all, choosing these two types of the databases according to their features, both of them depending on the replication and sharding in their systems. Secondly, a brief background with literature review will introduce the opinions for some researchers with some concepts. Thirdly, mentioning relational database and NoSQL in generally and MySQL and Neo4j in specifically, then try to make a comparison between the features for both of them. Moreover, all the websites, the researches, and the journals are the resources for this study. In addition, this study is like mentioned before is a theoretical study so there was no implementation work. However, the comparison presented the result in this study. All in all, we try to provide an understanding for MySQL and Neo4j, that leads us to find both of MySQL and Neo4j have their features, pros and cons that differ from each other. A web-based system to enhance students' abilities in English education
The research deals with enhancing the students' abilities to learn English language. The enhancement will be in the form of web-based computer system hosted in the root establishment of education that the students can access using their own computers at homes or school computers. The proposed system will use the computer digital media like movies, dictionaries, and speech facilities to simplify the reading, writing, listening, speaking and the vocabulary of the English language. The system is instructors' assistance system uses all attractive facilities to be students' favorite and beloved system and portable to give students the longest period of education with ability to share knowledge between them. It is an integrated multimedia system the override students motivations to enhance education facilities. The system will be implemented using the Microsoft Visual Studio development tool with aid of Visual C#.net integrated with Asp.Net tools to build the website according to the latest technologies in web-based application development. The designed system deals with analysis of the benefits of using it and questioners to show its intended application results and its abilities to reduce education costs and increase education effectiveness.
Energy efficiency in wireless sensor networks
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are consists of small sensor nodes with limited battery power, processing and memory units. There are two important features in WSNs. The first one is the infrastructure-less and second one is the self-organization. These properties make sensors convenient choice for several applications. When we try to investigate algorithms and protocols for wireless sensor networks we must study the features and constraints of WSNs. However, battery recharge is not possible or extremely challenging for sensor nodes. The main aspect in designing wireless sensor networks algorithms and protocols is ensuring energy efficiency and prolong the sensor network lifetime. Farther more the sensor node position within the set of deployed nodes decides which tasks have to be carried out and how many communication paths involve each individual sensor node. On the other hand the sensor networks in more obstructed environments, the path loss exponent value is vary. The high path loss exponent value increases unbalance energy depletion between nodes. In this thesis we investigated two node deployment strategies which are uniform and non-uniform (normal distribution) sensor node deployments with various path loss exponent values. We used a Linear Programming (LP) framework to analyze the effect of node deployment model on the network lifetime. Also we studied the effect of path loss on the wireless sensor network lifetime. Our results showed that by normal node deployment, energy balance can be improved up to certain level. However, increasing path loss exponent in normal node deployment may lead to decrease in improvement ratio.
Investigation of human capital index measurement in the middle east countries
The field of e-government has become one of the most developed and most important applications of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) around the world in recent years due to its positive impact on citizens, government and society because it refers to delivering government public services using ICT. The e-readiness assessment and e-government performance measurements for a country rely on the availability of necessary infrastructure, online services and readiness of a community to use e-government applications. This study focuses how the Human Capital Index (HCI) fits into e-government performance measurements in Middle Eastern countries. In parallel to the background, literature review and analysis data of Middle East countries in HCI, investigation in HCI for Middle East countries and potential issues that effect on HCI in those countries are done. Also, the impact of HCI proportion on the e-government performance is addressed. The findings reveal impact of HCI on evaluating the e-government performance; geographical area and population also affect the adoption of e-government. Additionally, the level of ICT and computer literacy is relatively poor in Middle Eastern countries. This research has limitations which include the sources of information, exclusive economic and legal issues and a limited number of measurement methods. Finally, the research opens HCI's weight into discussion in the evaluation of e-government performance although it is clear that whenever HCI increases in a country, it leads to an increase in e-government performance with the investigated measurement methods
Fredholm tipi integral denklemler
The aim of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive study on Fredholm Integral Equations and the methods to find exact solutions. We also seek to present some effective methods to find the exact solutions for linear and nonlinear Fredholm Integral Equations. Moreover, in order to study the convergence between the numerical solution and the exact solution, we applied the Newton-Kantorovich method as a model to find a numerical solution for a special type of Fredholm Integral Equation and compared the results with the exact solution. The results showed the accuracy of the numerical result and proximity of the exact results, thereby proving the effectiveness and simplicity of the Newton-Kantorovich method.
Design and manage website for college of administration and economics, Diyala University
With the fast development of information technology, websites have come to represent the main entrance for access to most institutions through fast communications and responses to various requests. Electronic communication achieved an actual scale to measure the efficiency of an institute especially with regard to the exchange of information and electronic services. In this study, the main purpose is to design and manage the new website of the College of Administration and Economics – Diyala University by using ASP.Net 2010 and processing the existing problems on the old website of the college, such as the traditional design and management of the website contents as well as website usability and quality of services and activities that are available to students and staff. The website has been designed to diagnose and address the problems mentioned above. The tools are based on designing and managing the website by using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, and ASP.Net, which includes the C# language. Moreover, the Microsoft Access 2010 was also used to build the database of some pages. Therefore, the objective of this work, which is to develop the website, has been accomplished properly. Text Categorization (TC) is an important intelligence information processing technology. This technology has high value in information retrieval, Electronic Governments, information filtering, text databases, digital libraries, and other aspects, but the problem of feature selection is equally or more important than text-categorization. In this thesis, we did our experiments with the help of standard Reuters-21578 dataset, and we discussed many important topics ranging from collecting data, to organizing data and ultimately using the organized data to efficiently conduct tests using the feature selection metrics.The general idea of any feature selection metric is to determine importance of words using some measure that can keep informative words, and remove non-informative words, which can then help the text-categorization engine categorize a document, D, into some category, C. The feature selection metrics that will be discussed in this thesis are: Term frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF), Document Frequency (DF), Mutual Information- Explanation (MI), Chi-square Statistics (CHI), GSS (Galavotti-Sebastiani-Simi) Coefficient – Explanation. It will combine Term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF) and Documents Frequency (DF) metrics to prepare the texts in a perfect way. After that, those texts will be used by classification process in Weka to get the best learning machines algorithms and the best performance of system, by computing performance measures such as (accuracy, error rate, recall, precision and F-measure). We compare the reusability of popular active learning algorithms for text classification and identify the best classifiers to use in active learning for text classification. All these mentioned measures were computed and plotted.
The control of traffic light based on architecture of vanet and sensor devices
Traffic coordination in streets is a very important and challenging issue. The project gives an adaptive traffic light system based on wireless communication between vehicles and embedded controller nodes existed in intersections and roadside. We have developed an integrated simulation environment. It is discussed that our system can improve traffic fluency in the streets and has clear advantages regarding performance, time saving and fuel consumption. We have used Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to overcome the road limitation resultants. We are proposing a system design with its protocol and set of algorithms to balance the road traffic load and make the driving on highways and urban cities roads easier and more comfortable. By applying this system on roads, we expect to see an easy traffic flow and more efficient and comfortable driving. Given application results were got from simulation studies, are compared with our system to show the significance or the need for a proposed system with its protocol's control actions and strategies.
A new method based on artificial neural network for fingerprint classification and recognition
In this work has been reached a method which is based on features of fingerprints patterns. In work method, fingerprint classification has been processed by using MATLAB software and then compared the result with previous methods. Results have proved the ability of the work method. Secondly it is morphological method so its accuracy is much better than other method. Feature extraction is performed using Co-occurrence matrix. Extracted features of the fingerprints are then classified by employing Artificial Neural Network. Many variants of neurons of these algorithms have been also implemented, wherever it is appropriate.
Human identification with palmprint based on local binary pattern
Palmprint recognition is one of the research areas is considered in recent years. In this thesis, we introduce a new method for human Palmprint identification system with local binary pattern. First, the palm images are preprocessing with morphological technics. Then the feature extraction for images is applied. We used local binary pattern and gray level Co-occurance matrix for desired features. This approach is tested for 500 people and there are 1, 2, 3... 7 image from each people. Our method is compared with PCA method and Wavelet continuous transformation. The result shows that proposed method is efficiency and good performance for Palmprint recognition.
Quality attributes investigation for saas in service level agreement
The cloud computing has been growing and becoming a new service model in business; in parallel, more service providers appear in the market. Hence, both quality and reliability of cloud computing services become essential topics as Quality of Service (QoS) requirements play major roles in service/provider selection. However, there is a significant concern for the QoS attributes considered in a service level agreement (SLA) while selecting service provider. Clarifying QoS attributes and related metrics for software as a service (SaaS) in SLAs are aimed in this work as the research question. It is partially observed that SaaS concerns more quality attributes than other services; also, availability of services is more considered in all SLAs. In this work, possible QoS attributes and metrics to be considered in SLAs for SaaS are presented. Main benefit of this work is defended as the QoS attributes are to be given major importance in the negotiation and evaluations of SLAs of cloud service. As major limitations, law/regulations, government/company policies and budgeting are not discussed. All these were led to answer the research questions by present 12 quality attributes with related metrics for SaaS.
Selecting a suitable database system for Kirkuk University
In this thesis, the situation for Kirkuk University was especially studied in order to change the current mechanism of managing the procedures based mostly on papers and manual work to that of another mechanism based on a database system. After studying the conditions of the University, we suggested and designed two models for two database systems that are adopted to be studied and compared in this thesis, namely the centralized database system and distributed database system. By using these models, comparisons are obtained between these two systems by applying three methods. The first method is to compare the general features for these two systems, the second by using three suggested queries as a simulation of the most used queries in the University, and the third by creating a questionnaire at the Presidency of the University and College of Agriculture, considering it as one of six colleges that communicates with the University campus via the WAN. Finally, the results of the three methods are analyzed in order to select a suitable database system for the conditions at Kirkuk University.

It is truism that, Volterra integral equations have many applications in various disciplines of sciences. Therefor, these equations have been attracted the attention of a huge number of mathematicians and scientists who work in the areas in which these equations appear. Hence, it is worth of note to study these equations from theoretical and computational points of views. Because of the significance and broadly usage of these equations in numerous fields of mathematics. So, in this thesis, the first and the second kind of Volterra integral equations have been defined. The uniqueness theorems of these equations are discussed by using the fixed point theory. Many methods to solve linear as well as nonlinear Volterra integral equations are being considered. Then, methods of solving systems of such equations are also mentioned. In addition to the above mentioned, an attention is paid to the singular Abel Volterra integral equation.
Orthogonality of sturm-liouville problems and some asymptotic behaviours
In this thesis, we discussed some important aspects of Sturm-Liouville theory such as orthogonality, Fourier series and asymptotic formulas for eigenvalues and eigenfunctions. After giving an introduction about the history of Sturm-Liouville Theory. We gave the way to convert any problem into regular Sturm-Liouville problem by finding suitable weight function. We included a method of finding asymptotic formulas for eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of Sturm-Liouville Problems. We also obtain an important formula about the solutions of a specific SL-problem and obtain formulas of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of this problem.
Fractional differential equations and their applications
The Laplace transform method for solving fractional differential equations is pre sented. The fractional diffusion and fractional Schrödinger equations together with their properties are investigated. Polynomial invariants and the geometric aspects of superintegrable systems in two- dimensional space were analyzed. Killing tensors and Killing- Yano tensors corre sponding to a set of four two dimensional superintegrable systems were found. The geometries obtained by adding a suitable term involving the components of the angu lar momentum to the corresponding free Lagrangians. Cyber security in the national protection of Turkey
Cyber attacks supported by individuals and states are increased by the prevalence of information technologies and usage of these technologies at the critical infrastructure of the states. In this study, these cyber attacks and associated impacts are researched. In connection with this issue, evolution of cyber threats from malware such as viruses to weapons is studied by examples. In addition, within this thesis, precautions against these threats are mentioned. Usage of anti-malware applications as prevalent precautions is assessed within this context. National and international standards of information security, information security strategies of EU, USA and some other countries and precautions for cyber security of Turkey are studied.In the 9th Development Plan of Turkey, building information society is targeted. In this thesis, requirements to reach this target securely are researched. Under this information, it is considered that educated citizens and companies along with public institutions should cooperate to provide a nationwide cyber security. Consequently, it is defended that government should play an affective role to protect, educate, and guide governmental and private companies and citizens about cyber security. Accordingly, this thesis advises that cyber security should be put into the next development plan.
Combined JPEG with DWT or image compression
The main idea for this research is apply JPEG technique with enhanced quantization, on Discrete Wavelet Transformation (DWT). The DWT minimize the size of the image into convert the image into LL, HL, LH and HH sub-bands. The LL sub-band represents approximately original image, and then applied JPEG technique on the LL sub-band, then applied quantization to increase number of zeros. Statistical based detection of DOS: (Denial of Service) attacks
Automated detection of anomalies in network traffic is an important and challenging task. Anomalies and intrusion are the main factors the affects the network performance. Detecting intruders that are aiming in degrading and preventing access to certain web pages or network address is the aim of many research works. In this work we propose an automated system to detect Denial of Service (DoS) attacks by using statistical methods. Related research work in this field will be surveyed and the aim will be the design of an enhanced method. Visual Basic .Net will used in designing the programs.The proposed program will be tested on real environment and its effectiveness will be verified.
The benefits and potential implementation problems of GIS in the water distribution services of municipalities case study: The Kirkuk Water Directorate
A potential implementation of geographic information systems (GIS) in Kirkuk Water Directorate is evaluated at a preliminary level. Selected literature has been surveyed and it is perceived that there are municipalities of smaller, bigger and same sizes which have successfully setup GIS in their water distribution departments for asset management, real time monitoring and hydraulic modeling in there services . Such works report success stories in managing their network as well as pinpointing malfunctioning segments due to problems such as leak, blowout or broken pumps.This research targeted to reveal potential problems that Kirkuk Water Directorate can face while transforming paper based records into digital environment for a prospective GIS. While the literature survey has provided reports of successful applications, any potential problem that Kirkuk Water Directorate can face could be only inferred from them. Hence, to experience GIS software and data preparation, a GIS course has been followed by the researcher. The researcher has also contacted key informants who have actively worked in Ankara?s water distribution department during the rehabilitation of its GIS. By this way, potential problems could be identified. Investigations have been done over sample files of map sheets shared by the Kirkuk Water Directorate and it is seen that potential problems can be solved by a data operator who has attended a basic GIS course. Both the literature and investigation results show that preparing spatial and non-spatial databases of assets is the start of a productive GIS. Before increasing data quality, building a hydraulic model is almost impossible and setting up a real time monitoring system is quite difficult. It is also found that organizational changes such as in business rules could be necessary as frequent field trips will be needed with the GIS staff to check assets in use. It is expected that this research will be beneficial for the municipality of Kirkuk to manage resources in implementing GIS for it is anticipated to start financial feasibility works under this topic.

A sample system is developed using design tools like ERDs, Microsoft access2007, and Microsoft visual basic 6.0. This system is convenient, makes it easy to share information and it is user friendly. Discrete Mittag-Leffler functions in fractional calculus
A specific type of Caputo q?fractional differential equations has been solved. The solutions have been expressed via the generalized q- Mittag Leffler func- tions which were comprised a while ago. The method of successive approxi- mation has been used to reach the solutions. Mittag-Leffler function makes q-analog, which was proposed by Kilbas and Saigo before, generalized. In addition to this, discrete Mittag-Leffler functions and q-analog Mittag- Leffler functions, concluded by T. Abdeljawad and D.Baleanu recently, have been discussed in the content of this thesis.
On left-definite sturm-liouville equations
Sturm-Liouville equations are very important to understand the nature of the real-world problems and have been investigated by many authors. To investigate the spectral properties of these problems it is convenient to construct the Hilbert space. Such a construction is done with the help of the weight function. In 1992, A.M. Krall studied on the second order equation -(pg′)′ + qg =λwg, where p, q, w are real-valued functions with 1/p, q, w > 0 on the given interval [c,d] subject to some boundary conditions in the Sobolev space. Such equations are called left-definite equations. He also investigated the left definite fourth order equations and Hamiltonian systems on the finite intervals. Moreover, Race and Krall studied on the Weyl theory for a left-definite second order equation. Using these obtained results second-order, fourth-order equations and Hamiltonian systems are studied on finite and infinite intervals in this thesis.
Priority issues in the initialization of tablet pc projects for education
Instances and results of tablet PC usage in the area of education are investigated in this study. In relation, challenges faced/to be faced with the FATIH Project of Turkey are evaluated. The viability and the effects of using tablet PCs in education and related examples in the world are studied. Additionally, integration of tablet PCs into the field of education and problems that have arisen were studied as far as they are reported in the literature. It is found that the use of tablet PCs in education increases the motivation and attendance of the students. However, required components, including teacher training, planning issues, student training, classroom management software, e-content, infrastructure and addressing technical problems are not always fulfilled; moreover, such an initiative may create distraction for the students. It is significant that tablet PC projects should be subject to pilot applications before applying them across the country so that the results can be analyzed by experts in depth. It is found that society‟s e-readiness plays an important role in the success of such programs. Furthermore, the components of the FATIH Project are investigated and related abstract experience is reported. vi Limitations of the study include the financial and legal aspects of such projects. Additionally, up-to-date data on how much tablets promote the education of the students is considerably hard to find, as the initiative is quite new. It is concluded that tablet PCs may not replace the printed materials fully, however, they promise to have positive effects in education, such as in the individual learning pace.

An application of a GIS-based campus information system: Kirkuk University as an example
In today's world, developing information technology (IT) plays an important role in our lives. One of the advantages of developing technology is obtaining, creating, saving, collecting, analyzing and using data and information formed by data easily in the computer environment. Like all areas in our lives, in academic life too, information technologies should be used effectively in order to benefit from them. Computer-supported studies are providing an academic environment will enable information to be used effectively. An information system that is map-based and contains an academic structure is easy to use. It supports the people and the associations that are at the stage of decision-making. Geographic information systems (GIS) are one of the most active technologies available for a spatial data management or handling system. An easy way to have access to an area is to digitally represent it in a computer environment. The GIS started with the purpose of creating digital maps, and it quickly became a valuable tool in the decision-making process for various areas. GIS is a system that uses spatial (geographically referenced) data and non-spatial database of descriptive information (attributes) and includes operations that support spatial analysis. Therefore, GIS and the programs supporting the system can be seen as advantageous while creating a map-based campus information system (CIS). In this study, a map-based CIS was designed after preparing a digital map of the campus area in desired formats containing spatial and non-spatial data, integrating different types of data that include: images, text, video, and graphics in a 3D (three-dimensional) model of the University's structure shown by appropriate programs in a computer environment. The system is known as a Geographical Information System-Based CIS and users who are going to use this system should be identified. In this study, the map-based CIS users are academic and administrative personnel in the University's structure, present students, and visitors that are seeking information about the University. After considering all users and identifying their needs, the system was designed. Kirkuk University campus was chosen for the application of the study. A sample model of a campus information system was designed for this area. The programs that were used while designing the CIS were MapInfo version 12.0 together with C#.NET, which was utilized to develop the GIS application-based CIS for Kirkuk University. In conclusion, users will integrate more easily into the Kirkuk University environment by using this application in text, images, a 3D model drawing of the campus (using the Google SketchUp program version 2013) and videos (using the Lumion program version 3.0). The multimedia database demonstrated in this study that GIS is a very important tool in the management of university facilities. This study is highly significant for Iraq and many other third world countries where the management of university facilities is conducted manually and is therefore slow and inaccurate. Advanced countries of the world where GIS is yet to be adopted as a powerful tool for the management of university facilities will find this study highly relevant.
Management of spatial data of residential areas in Kirkuk via GIS technology
Due to the importance of Kirkuk which is located between longitudes (44° 26' 27 "E - 44° 17'10 "E), and latitudes (35° 30' 34 "N - 35° 20 '5 "N), has reached the researcher to choose representation cartographer for the selection of the best residential areas. This study was characterized by the use of systems software geographic information of the program (Arc GIS .v.10.0) and remote sensing techniques of virtual satellite patched (Quick Bird) and captured by the US satellite, with accuracy discriminatory (0.60 cm) for the year 2008 and the use of a huge database of the city and all uses of the land where the base. This study serve to increase the wheel ideal urban development and urban planning on the grounds of residential areas and the center of gravity is the foundation of a city by creating substantial network infrastructure and distribution services by global and regional standards that are spread around the scale. The researcher test all areas of the city land in residential areas to reach the best and most suitable areas such as education, health, commercial, recreational and religious spaces. On the other hand, has compared the security reality of Iraq in general and the study area, in particular, by testing the police stations sites that cause a threat to residential areas for its existence within the scope of these areas depending on the user criterion which in turn results bodily harm as a physical in case of any terrorist act at these centers. The role of information systems in application of human resources management system in presidency of Diyala University
Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS) plays an important role for any organisation to effectively manage its human resources. In university domain, HRMS is particularly crucial as the organisation comprises a large number of personnel and administrative units. In Iraq, some universities are still using the manual administration in management of human resources which has disadvantages including: spending a large amount of papers, stores need for archive save and using paper records for save institution data as well. The main purpose of this study is designing an electronic system to manage human resources in presidency of Diyala University. A HRMS at an abstract level has been designed to address the problems of traditional management. Methodology of the study is based on building database by using (Microsoft SQL Server 2008) and designing interfaces for database by using (Microsoft Visual Studio v 2010). The finding of this study is the application enables to presidency of Diyala university facilitate administrative procedures in HRM through collecting the employees information in one place is database and conducting different processes on it such as, insert, update, delete and print according to the need of the end user, hence saving of time in the search process and reducing administrative effort. High accuracy of classification is obtained when considering the word presence as a factor of extraction. Moreover, one can obtain high accuracy also by using word frequency as a factor of extraction when supplying the test data on training corpora of tweets in the case of multi-domain tweets.
