Abstract (EN)

The research dealt with the color significance in the stories of Youssef El Sibai (Persian of Romance), one of the most prominent story writers in Egypt. They studied his stories in a stylistic semantic study, based on counting the color phenomena in his stories and highlighting them. Colorism semantically and stylistically, and the study of the semantics of the words of colors and their connotations in order to try to know their ability to reveal the content of that distinctive narrative production that is related to a special stage in the development of the Arab art of the story. The research included an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion. The first chapter came as an introduction to understanding the research and its tools. The student dealt with the definition of research terms (semantics, color, story, Yusuf al-Sibai), then he talked about the meanings of color in Arabic and its connection to the ancient Arab heritage. I devoted the second chapter to researching the meanings of colors in the stories of Yusuf al-Sibai, each color separately, and the psychological, social, artistic and aesthetic dimensions from which the writer started using this color to the exclusion of others. I devoted the third chapter to the study of color phenomena, a stylistic study. So we started by defining style and stylistics, and then we proceeded from it to study the linguistic vocabulary of colors that express the writer's ingenuity in choosing colors, and his method and techniques in that. Keywords: (color significance, Youssef Al-Sibai, the story).
