Abstract expressionism in Turkish painting after 1980

In every period of human history, the artist has always renewed himself, has searched new ways and has expressed himself in his own style. Industrial developments have influenced social environment, human life, world poli-tics and ideologies. It has been inevitable that the artwork of the artist is influenced by industrial improvements. Abstract Expressionism is an artistic movement which is occured in the USA after World War II. Both the artists in the USA and Europe have been influenced by this movement. This movement has also influenced the ar-tists in Turkey and there have been artworks in which abstract expressionism appro-ach takes place. Hence, abstract expressionism has made important contributions to Turkish Modern Art. The impact of Abstract Expressionism started to be seen in Turkey in 1950s and 1960s.
