Examing the political parties that have a group in the Turkish Grand National Assembly in the 27th period in terms of intra-party democracy

Although a significant part of political parties, which are indispensable elements of democratic life, usually claim to bring a higher standard of democracy, they often fail to institutionalize intra-party democracy even within themselves. It is not possible to make a holistic discourse for all parties in Turkey in terms of intra-party democracy. Because, while some parties have made significant progress in this regard, others are contented with meeting the minimum criteria in the Law on Political Parties. For this reason, in this thesis study, which aims to reveal the approaches of the five parties that play an important role in Turkish political life and have groups in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, towards the issue of intra-party democracy, AKP, CHP, HDP, MHP and IYI Party's party democracy in the 27th term of the Parliament. It is analyzed how much they include the principle in their party programs, bylaws, election manifestos, discourses and practices. Keywords: Political Party, Democracy, Intra-Party Democracy.
