Abstract (EN)
Our country is a disaster country. After the February 6 earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş, the number of disaster workers in our country has increased due to the fact that the disaster area is quite large and the effects of the disaster have lasted and are still continuing. This study aims to examine the perceived social support levels, psychological resilience and burnout levels of disaster workers who are still working in the disaster area in the provinces affected by the February 6 earthquakes. A total of 103 disaster workers currently working in 11 provinces affected by the disaster participated in the study. The data were collected using Sociodemographic Information Form, Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale, Connor Davidson Psychological Resilience Scale and Burnout Scale Short Form. Statistical analysis of the data was performed with SPSS 22.0 program. According to the scores obtained from the scales, it was determined that the participants' perceived social support and psychological resilience were at a moderate level and they experienced partial burnout. According to the correlational analysis between the variables, there was a significant positive relationship between perceived social support and psychological resilience at a moderate level, a significant negative relationship between perceived social support and burnout at a moderate level, and no significant relationship was found between psychological resilience and burnout. While no significant relationship was found between the age, years of experience in the profession and scale scores of the participants, it was found that there was a significant relationship between the gender and educational status of the participants and their burnout, and between their working experience in the disaster area and their psychological resilience. According to the results obtained, as the perceived social support levels of disaster workers increase, their psychological resilience increases and their burnout decreases. Disaster field is an area where negative and stressful life events are frequently encountered. From this point of view, psychological conditions of disaster workers should be evaluated and empowering and supportive studies should be conducted for disaster workers.
