Abstract (EN)

Morality is a science that tries to determine how a social being should behave as an individual in society. At the same time, it also discusses and explores this subject. Morality idealizes the relationship of man with other people and other beings as a guideline. The history of morality is parallel to the history of mankind because the man is both the subject, the actor and the responder of morality. Fron the being human there were ethics and morality as well. All religions have appointed morality. In addition to that, philosophers have also thought about this science and its artifacts. While some philosophers consider ethics independently from the religion, some philosophers associate morality with religion. This study is the comparison of the moral concepts between Immanuel Kant who is the great philosopher of the Enlightenment period, and Ahmet Hamdi Akseki, one of the most important Islamic scholar of the last century. Immanuel Kant is a founding philosopher on morality. He rejected the moral systems in the history of philosophy, proposed a new moral understanding, and proposed morality that prioritizes humanity, certainty, and universality. Although Ahmet Hamdi Akseki believes that Islamic morality is the only moral system, he has also done important critiques about all the moral ecoles in the history of philosophy by researching them. Immanuel Kant was one of the philosophers that he studied and Kant was the philosopher more appreciated by him. The subjects of homework, obligation, freedom, responsibility, intention, and conscience have an important place in the morals of these two great thinkers. The comparison in this study is within the framework of these concepts.
