Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, it is aimed to reveal the relationship between the socio-economic level of the family, the academic success of the child and his participation in distance education. First of all, the concept of education in the historical process has been discussed and the components related to the concept have been included, and the reflection of educational practices in Turkey has been examined. The application part of the study was carried out in Çınar District of Diyarbakır Province and the quantitative research method was used. The universe of the study was determined by the parents of the students who took the High School Entrance Exam held at the end of the 2020-2021 academic year. As a sample, in accordance with the main purpose of the study, the parents of the students who were in the first 25 and the last 25 in the ranking of scores were formed. In general, the thesis was created by focusing on the idea that the socio-economic level of the family affects the academic success of the child and his participation in distance education. In this context, the factors affecting academic achievement were examined and the relationship between the socio-economic level of the family was supported by studies and tried to be revealed. It has been tried to determine to what extent the socio-economic conditions, the effect of which is clearly felt in participation in distance education, which has become indispensable due to the pandemic, manifests itself in the success of the students in the exams, which are the main determinants of their education life.
