The study of children's books of Almila Aydın in terms of the main principlesof childrens's literature

In this research, it is aimed to examine the works written by Almıla Aydın for children according to the basic principles of children's literature. In the research, the document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. The sample of the research consists of 18 children's books written by Almıla Aydın until 2019. The works were examined according to the titles of design and painting, subject-fiction, theme, language and expression, heroes, environment, message, educational and literary principles, keeping the principle of being suitable for the child at the forefront. When Almıla Aydın's works were examined, it was observed that the books were written according to their age level and the characteristics of the age level at which they were written. It has been seen that the works are suitable for age levels in terms of design and painting features, and their illustrations are used by considering level differences. Subjects and themes selected in the works were used in accordance with age levels and were chosen from subjects that could attract children's attention. Heroes are animals at younger age levels; In the later age levels, they were selected from children. This is successful in that the children put themselves in the hero's place and feel that they belong to the work. In the works, language and expression are used in accordance with the reader, and language and expression elements that children will have difficulty in understanding are avoided. When examined in terms of educational and literary principles, instructive elements were used implicitly in the works, and educational elements were given in an entertaining way through the subject filter. Based on all these findings, it was concluded that the examined works are suitable for children's literature and the basic principles of children's literature.
