Investigation of the relationship between social skills and technology addiction of sixth and seventh grade secondary school students

This study examines whether there is a relationship between social skills of sixth and seventh grade secondary school students and technology addiction. The sample of the study, in which quantitative research methods were applied, was educated in the central district of Batman province in 2019-2020 academic year with 280 students. "Personal Information Form", Social Skills Scale "and" Technology Addiction Scale" were used as data collection tools. The data were analyzed with SPSS statistical analysis program. Frequency, percentage, t-test, one way analysis of variance and correlation analysis were used for data analysis. At the end of the study, there was a negative relationship between students 'internet addiction total scores and social skill total scores, besides students' internet addiction scores and social skill scores were significant in both social skills and technological addiction scores was seen to make a difference.
