Qur'an teaching methods in anatolia: Example of underline Qur'an translation (50b-100a)

While religion plays an important role in the development and change of social life, it is also one of the factors that greatly affect language development. The rapid spread of Islam among the Turks since the 10th century has led to radical changes in the history of Turkish literature. The Turks, who encountered a new understanding of religion, needed the translation of the Qur'an in order to fulfill their religious duties and to pray consciously. As a result of this situation, the translation of the Qur'an, whose language is Arabic, has become a necessity. The first examples are the translations made in Karahanlı-Khorezm Turkish, XVI. Since the 19th century, translations written in Old Anatolian Turkish have been added in the Anatolian field. Translations of the Qur'an occupy an important place in the history of the Turkish language. The Turks, who met with Islam since the 8th century, needed the translations of the Qur'an to learn the religion of Islam from its source. The first translations of the Qur'an were made in the period of the Karakhanids, with the method called underline. The source of our study is an anonymous underline Qur'an translation containing 50b-100a pages of the Quran Translation, which is registered in the Konya Koyunoğlu City Museum and Library Manuscripts Collection, archive number 11681, belonging to the Old Anatolian Turkish period. First of all, the Arabic reading of the line, then its translation was given, according to the "Quran Translation" of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, since the Turkish words used as opposed to Arabic words in the underline Qur'an translations made word for word will contribute to the Turkish language studies. After the translation, the meanings of the Turkish religious concepts and terms that were used in the period but not used at the moment were given and analyzed on the examples.
