Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to evaluate the awareness of tests used in predicting difficult airway among anesthesiologists working in anesthesia and reanimation clinics across Türkiye. With ethical approval obtained on May 20, 2024, a total of 909 anesthesiologists participated in an online survey including demographic questions and items assessing their knowledge, experience, and practices related to difficult airway evaluation and management. Results showed that Mallampati and Cormack–Lehane classifications were the most commonly known and utilized tests across all professional levels. Faculty members demonstrated greater familiarity with advanced assessment tools such as LEMON and Wilson risk classification compared to residents and specialists. Overall, the findings indicate that while difficult airway assessment tests are widely recognized, the routine use of more comprehensive scales remains limited. The study highlights the need for ongoing education and standardization in airway management training and practice. Keywords: difficult airway, anesthesiology, Mallampati, Cormack–Lehane, LEMON, airway management.
