Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out with seasonal sampling in order to determine hydroid polyps distributed in eight different stations on the Gulf of Antalya. In the study area, samples were taken from the upper infralittoral region by apnea dives and some physicochemical and biologic properties (salinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, electrical conductivity, chlorophyll-a, zooplankton) were determined. Systematic studies on hydroid polyps in the world seas and the Mediterranean Sea have been used in the identification of species. It was concluded that the physicochemical properties of the region were generally similar to those of Mediterranean water quality. As a result of this study, 36 taxa belonging to 17 families were determined. Among the identified species; Clytia hummelincki ve Acauloides ammisatum are the first records for Turkish coasts. Coryne eximia, Clytia gracilis, Plumularia obliqua, Eudendrium merulum, Halecium tenellum, Orthopyxis integra, Hydractinia aculeata, Laomedea flexuosa, Laomedea angulata, Dicoryne conferta, Eudendrium simplex and Hydrodendron mirabile are new records for our Mediterranean costs. Clytia hemisphaerica and Pennaria disticha were most common species of the area. When the substrate preferences of hydroid polyps examined, it is seen that the highest rate is 37% with epiphytic subsrate, followed by epilytic with 23.08% and epicooic with 21.68% respectively.
