Abstract (EN)
The ancient Greeks left a visually and conceptually competent artistic legacy in terms of the development of 20th century Western modern sculpture by giving a brand-new aesthetic appearance to the sculpture art they took from Egypt and Sumer, in line with their uniquely constructed worldviews, philosophical and artistic perspectives. For instance, the Greeks, who reflect the objective images in nature to life by describing them through their works, transformed the sensuous reality that they conceptualized and reshaped with their idealized understanding of beauty and aesthetics into a field of spiritual reality. The ancient arts, which perfected with Plato's idea of beauty and Aristotle's theories conceptualizing the relationship between form and matter (content and form) in nature, continued to change and transform with many historical and cultural expansions that took place in the process, and as a result, a great deal of conceptual and stylistic aspects. It has made an inspiring contribution to the changing and developing Western modern art. With this inspiration, modern artists, inspired by the classical basic principles described by imitating nature in Ancient Greek art, have created a unique individual meta- language that each artist has constructed uniquely by structuring a new field of intuition, sense, and emotion (mood) unique to them in the 20th century. In this respect, modern artists, who express the subjective/abstract objects of thought in their works, in other words, replace the objective language with the subjective conceptual language, have conceptualized objective reality and reshaped it with the principles of beauty and aesthetics that they idealize, and have created a spiritual reality space unique to them.
