Huruf al-jarr in the Arabic language and their effect on verses of rulings: Tahavi example

Understanding the Holy Qur'an has great importance in all areas of life, especially in Muslims' individual, family, and social fields. In this sense, understanding the verses of the Holy Qur'an in accordance with its purpose is directly related to learning the functions of the Holy Qur'an language. Therefore, in order to understand and interpret the provisions that emerge from the verses properly, we should have a grasp of Huruf al-jarr, which is included in the scope of the Nahw science. Huruf al-jarr is one of the most extensive topics in the Arabic language in terms of the richness and diversity of meaning that it adds to the sentence. It also helps to comprehend and interpret the Holy Qur'an precisely. In this study, the fonctions that Huruf al-Jarr undertakes in revealing the provisions and the semantic contribution that it provides to the verses of rulings in the exegesis of Abu Ca'fer et-Tahivi named "Ahkam al-Quran" have been examined. In addition, how the Huruf al-Jarr which has an important position in the Nahw science reflects on the meanings of verses of rulings in the Ahkam al-Qur'an exegesis of Tahavi also has been examined and evaluated. This study consists of an introduction, two sections and one conclusion. In the first chapter, the definition and importance of Huruf al-jarr in the Arabic language, their meanings, and their use in creating sentences have been discussed. In the second chapter, the general information about Abu Ca'fer et-Tahivi's life, characteristics, and scientific personality; the effects of Huruf al-Jarr on meaning in the verses of rulings in his exegesis named Ahkam al-Qur'an; and Tahavi's perspective on the verses of rulings from this frame and his preferences have been invastigated.
