Abstract (EN)
This thesis deals with religious living of Âşık Veysel Şatıroğlu, a bard. It aims to analyze his religious life psychologically based on his biographies and poetry. Firstly, the concepts of religion and pietism are explained. As the poet is a bard who introduces folk poetries through his saz (a typical musical instrument) and ballads, in this thesis the concepts of "music over religion" and "religion over music" are discussed. The sufistic experiences and religious realizations reflected in his poems are psychologically analized. Key words: Âşık Veysel, religious, sufism, psychology of religion, music.
