Abstract (EN)
Objective: This study aimed to reveal the quality of life of DM2 smokers in the city of Nasiriyah and to reveal the relationship between the selected demographic data and the quality of life of type II diabetic smokers. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted between 01/04/2022-30/09/2022 at Nasiriyah Training Hospital in Nasiriyah. The study population consists of patients with type 2 diabetes in the hospitals that will be researched, whose ages range from 40 to 60 years. The study sample consisted of 235 male and female patients who agreed to participate in the study at the time of data collection. The Personal Information Form and the Quality of life scale for Type 2 diabetes patients (DqoL) Scale were used to collect data. Results: The mean age of the study group was 50.76 ± 6.80, 55.7% were males, 66.0% were married and 24.3% had a bachelor's degree. It was determined that the scores of the sub-dimensions of the quality of life for patients with type 2 diabetes are higher in the age group 56-60 years, who have a bachelor's degree, who have income more than expenses, who have an average health perception, and the duration of their disease is between 1-5 years, females, married women, who receive Social support, who do not suffer from additional diseases and the differences were statistically significant (p≤0.05). Conclusion: The results of the study showed that the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes is affected by variables such as age, gender, marital status, education, social support, and additional diseases.
