The life, literature of Ata Köpek Mergen and the examination of Ata Köpek Yılgıryar

In our thesis, the life and literary personality of Ata Köpek Mergen, one of the important representatives of Turkmen literature, has been examined. Ata köpek Mergen was born on 11 December 1898 in Marı, Turkmenistan. The most important property of Mergen, who came to the forefront with his poet and joker identity at a young age, is that he is a narrator of jokes, stories and tales, and that the public has produced new narratives referring to him. Mergen, the change of power (October Revolution) and He is a person who has witnessed the years of World War II. He observed very well the situation of his people in these years and some events that caused the disruption of the society, and he described this situation in his literary works, sometimes in a satirical, sarcastic and sometimes didactic manner. In our thesis, we translated Ata Köpek Yılgıryar, edited by Gurbandurdı Gurbansehedov and compiled by Çarı Gurbangılıçov into original Turkish language (Turkey's Turkish).We analyzed the literary works - 119 jokes, 42 funny stories, 4 fairy tales and 10 poems - that are thought to belong to and/or attributed to Ata köpek Mergen in the work, using the method of content analysis. These analyzed works clearly show Ata Köpek Mergen's literary personality and his important place in Turkmen literature.
