Pollution after the discharge of wastewater in to river-evaluation of Alanya Antalya Gazipasa region

In this study, samples were taken from five different points in April 2022 and April 2023 based on the discharge point of the domestic wastewater treatment plant to determine the pollution loads in İnceağrı Stream in Antalya Alanya Gazipaşa Region. These samples were analyzed for pH, electrical conductivity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, chemical oxygen demand, ammonia nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, turbidity, color, hardness, calcium, magnesium, chloride, alkalinity, and sodium. According to the analysis results, pH, electrical conductivity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, chemical oxygen demand, ammonia nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, turbidity, color, hardness, calcium, magnesium, chloride, alkalinity, and sodium values were 7.31-7. 84, 438-2082 µS/cm, 15.4-16.7 o C, 4-5.4 mg/L, 0.012-2.9867 mg/L, -0.0636-1.1326 mg/L, 0.0019-0.0254 mg/L, 0.4-3.23 NTU, 8.4435-52.5127 Pt-Co, 212-504 mg/L CaCO 3 , 144-232 mg/L CaCO 3 , 56-272 mg/L CaCO 3 , 7-20,99 mg/L, 188-220 mg/L CaCO 3 and -0,1676-412,804 mg/L, respectively. Domestic and industrial wastewater discharges, use of river water as irrigation water, livestock breeding activities in the region, and topographic slope can be shown as the reasons for the change in water quality. Especially in the still water at point A5 where the river flows into the sea, the water quality is very poor. In the relevant area, the waters should be opened to the sea with an appropriate method and project and the activities related to the waters should be controlled.
