Abstract (EN)
Any information that makes a person's identity specific or identifiable is personal data. As a result of the developments in information technologies, the processing of personal data has reached enormous dimensions today, in this case, the need for the protection of personal data has revealed the right to protect personal data. In our study, after explaining the basic concepts related to personal data by considering these requirements, the need for the protection of personal data in the historical process, its legal nature, the basic principles in the processing of personal data and the rights of the data owner were examined. Comparisons and differences were determined and opinions and criticisms were included in line with sample judicial decisions. Our study consists of three main titles, in the First Chapter; General explanations on the protection of personal data are in the Second Section; Protection of personal data in international sources and European Union sources, and in the Third Part; The right to the protection of personal data in Turkish Law has been examined and studies have been made.
