Baba Hüsni and his divan (review-text)

The aim of the study; to introduce Baba Hüsnî pseudonym poet and Divan, which are not known in the scientific world, to determine their place in Turkish divan poetry and to reveal the full text of the work. The scope of the work; The life and literary personality of Baba Hüsnî, the examination of Baba Hüsnî Dîvan in terms of shape and content and revealing the criticized text of the work. For this, research, examination and criticism methods were used. Baba Hüsnî, a Dagestan teacher and calligrapher, He lived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The poet, whose real name was Hüseyin Hüsnü Ozanbay, is the son of a father, poet and teacher, named Ömer. Baba Hüsnî who was born in Dagestan in 1882, received a good education and learned Arabic and Persian from the mister Seyyid Sâlih Efendi. Hüsnî, who has a successful education life, studied at the Istanbul Dârülfünûn Faculty of Literature, where he grew up by taking lessons from the leading names of the period such as Tevfîk Fikret and Mehmet Âkif. The poet who taught Turkish, history and geography in Istanbul, Samsun and Konya lived 22 years in Samsun and 8 years in Konya. The date of death was written on the tombstone as 1942. Up to now, no scientific study has been carried out about Baba Hüsnî, a Sunni poet of Azeri origin, and his work. Two manuscripts of Divan, the only known work of the poet, were identified. These are in Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Taksim Atatürk Library and Marmara University Library. In Divan of Baba Hüsnî, where there are manuscripts written both in folk poetry and divan poetry style; There are 95 short mesnevis, 55 ghazals, 67 verses, 13 eulogies, 11 rubais, 17 murabbas, 4 terci bents, 1 terkib bents, 1 muhammes, 24 couplets, 5 chansonettes and 1 poem, the shape of which is uncertain. There are a total of 294 verses. Divan of Baba Hüsnî; attracts attention in terms of the fact that Turkish poetry, extending from the tradition to modern and folk poetry, which was written in the 20th century, is an unfamiliar ring, sometimes it contains local elements, its language has local features and frequently uses obscene expressions.
