Abstract (EN)
Countries have witnessed many financial crises throughout history and faced various difficulties in various time frames. The banking sector, which increased its activities especially after the First Industrial Revolution, was sometimes the cause of the crises, and sometimes the sector that suffered the most from the crises. The Basel Criteria, the first of which came into force in 1988, has tried to bring the banking sector into an order at the international level, even if it does not have any sanctions. To date, Basel-I, Basel-II, Basel 2.5 and Basel-III implementations have come into force and have made various provisions ranging from various risk definitions to equity calculations and banks' liquidity structures. The aim of this study is to determine the level of adaptation of Turkish Banking Sector to Basel criteria just after the 2008 Global Crisis.
